On January 30, 2009, Cedar Springs will host a 7:30 p.m. concert by the Southern Stars Symphonic Brass Band. Dwight Wages, founder of this professional 30 piece ensemble, says it will be a very diverse program:

“Our director, Dr. Donald Ryder (who is the University of Tennessee’s Director of Marching and Symphonic Bands), has developed a program that has many different types of music included. The variety is sure to impress our concert audience and we are also featuring 5 different instrumental soloists from within the band on special selections.”
Knoxville’s Bill Williams will be announcing the concert and providing comments about the selections.

Tickets for the event ($10 adults/ $5 children 12 and under) are available at all Rush Music Centers.

A portion of the proceeds from this concert will provide scholarships for students attending the Cedar Springs Music Academy.
